S4C set to hit Mipcom with a Bang

Welsh- and English-language drama Bang

MIPCOM: Welsh broadcaster S4C will be showcasing its new bilingual drama Bang here in Cannes through international distributor Banijay Rights, to follow up its earlier sale to SVT in Sweden.

Bang (8×60’), a Welsh- and English-language production from Joio and Artists Studio, is written by Roger Williams.

After its premiere on S4C in September, Banijay Rights sold the show to SVT. Banijay will now shop the series to global broadcasters at Mipcom.

“The series’ strength lies in its strong sense of identity, deeply rooted in a community where both languages co-exist seamlessly,” said Gethin Scourfield, exec producer for S4C.

“Roger and the production team have created a show with a powerful sense of identity. It’s no surprise that this is a series that has struck a chord with audiences in Wales and further afield.”
