Russia Can Do talent format

A Russian broadcaster has acquired the rights to Israeli shiny-floor talent show I Can Do That! from distributor Armoza Formats.

Rossiya 1 will debut the show, to be produced by Endemol’s Russian prodco WeiT Media, on Sunday October 12 during primetime.

The format challenges eight celebrities to choose a skill to master in a week before performing it live, with viewers deciding which performance is best.

Singer and actor Timur Rodriguez will present the Russian adaptation while sportscaster Vladimir Stognienko will act as host and commentator.

The show came from a partnership between Armoza and Chinese broadcaster Jiangsu Broadcasting Corp that saw the duo co-developing and distributing original formats.

Russia’s commission follows Italian pubcaster Rai commissioning a second season following the success of its local adaptation Si Può Fare!.

I Can Do That! has already been acquired by producers such as Endemol, Banijay and Shine for more than 15 other territories, including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Norway.
