Rules of the Game to become TV gameshow

In the US, Linkletter/Atkins/Kritzer Productions has teamed up with Game Technologies to develop a TV gameshow format based on the latter's sports board game Rules of the Game.

The production outfit, which recently brought back Kids Say The Darndest Things as a CBS network special, will also be responsible for securing a network, syndication or other broadcast placement for the Rules… show.

Game will, in turn, have creative input and maintain consulting rights on the TV show's content.

The show will emulate the dice & board game, which features situations from sport categories: basketball; American football; baseball; and golf. Contestants have to make the right call in various game situations.

{Gameshows began in 1935, I was there,{ said entertainment veteran Art Linkletter. {I'm still enthusiastic about their future.{

Last December, Hasbro picked up the worldwide rights to make and sell Rules of the Game board game products, while the CD-Rom version is licensed to French game tech firm Infogrames.
