Rooftop Immersive Studios is coproducing The Ark Experience

Netherlands-based distributor and producer Rooftop Content Group has rejigged its operations, launching two subsidiaries to focus on TV/film production and immersive experiences.

All previous sales and production activity within Rooftop Content Group will move to Rooftop Film & TV, while Rooftop Immersive Studios will create, produce and distribute virtual reality (VR), augmented reality, extended reality and 360-degree video productions for international clients and partners.

Jan Maarten Groen, founder of A Film and former sales director at Universal Benelux, has joined Rooftop Immersive Studios as co-founder, along with VR veteran Roger Rosweide who becomes partner.

A number of deals involving Rooftop Immersive Studios are in the works, but under wraps, with mobile operators, cable providers and OTT channels. The subsidiary has also revealed it has become a coproducer on VR show The Ark Experience.

Created by Uri Schutzer, Shmuel Ben-Shalom and Avivit Rosinger, The Ark Experience sees viewers facing a series of dilemmas and uses technology to allow them to shape their own story that then impacts the wider audience.

Jordi van Even, founder of Rooftop Content Group, said the subsidiary launches “consolidate our position within an emerging media landscape while attaching innovation to our existing business lines.”
