The promotions are designed to strengthen central operations and finance functions and increase sales focus in the emerging markets, according to an FMI statement.

The new structure sees former chief finance officer and director of operations Bob McCourt become chief operating officer, supporting Richter in managing and leading FMI.

McCourt will help Richter set and implement FMI’s strategic and commercial direction, and oversee all operational and financial aspects of the distribution business.

McCourt’s daily financial responsibilities are taken over by Darren Green, who has been upped from senior financial controller to financial director.

The news follows the recent appointment of Shine International’s Georgia Brown as senior VP of scripted, as FMI looks to strengthen its drama output.

Meanwhile, Richter, who joined from Red Arrow International, has also changed the global sales force, promoting Singapore-based Haryaty Rahman to senior VP of sales and distribution for Asia.

Rahman’s line manager Ganesh Rajaram, exec VP of sales and distribution, Asia, and Sheila Aguirre, exec VP of content distribution and format sales, Latin America and Hispanic US, will now report directly to Richter.

FMI is also looking to hire a new senior executive for Central and Eastern Europe.
