TV5Monde launches New Orleans VoD net French-language international TV network TV5Monde has entered its first video-on-demand market and launched a locally themed channel on the Cox cable operator in New Orleans, Louisiana. The VoD channel joins TV5Monde's linear network that was launched on the Cox system in New Orleans in December. The on-demand channel, launched to service the French-speaking community that makes up about 20% of the city's population, will offer a slate including documentaries, cooking and travel shows, all of which will be subtitled in English. Among TV5Monde's local productions will be coverage of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival later this spring. Head of TV5Monde Marie-Christine Saragosse said the move into VoD sign-posted plans to expand the network across multiple platforms.
