Mediaset confirmed as Breasts buyer
Mediaset has been confirmed as the Italian broadcaster adapting Colombian telenovela Without Breasts There is No Paradise, after C21 broke news of the format deal last month.
Bogota-based Caracol TV's best-selling international format is being reworked for Italy by Grundy Italia, the same FremantleMedia prodco that adapted the format for Telecinco in Spain. It is being produced in Buenos Aires, Argentina, starring Daniele Liotti, Nathaly Paty Gomez and Lola Ponce.
Lisette Osorio, international director of Caracol TV, said the deal "represents a momentous step for Colombian television because it is the first Latin format to reach Italian broadcast television."
Aside from airing four seasons on Telecinco, the format has previously been sold to NBC Universal, which aired a 160-part adaptation on its Hispanic channel Telemundo, where it became a big hit in the 2008/09 season.
