YouTube goes local in Canada NEWS BRIEF: YouTube has taken the latest step in its strategy of offering localised versions of its video-sharing website, by launching a tailored Canadian portal. The company kicked off its international expansion plan in the summer, with local versions launching in Brazil, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK. Content partners lining up for the Canadian launch include pubcaster CBC, Dose.ca, CFL, NewsCanada and Sony BMG Canada, some of which already have their own YouTube channels and some of which are planning them. 7 Nov 2007 © C21 Media 2007 C21 Home | FutureMedia Home | Printer Friendly | Email a Friend |
