Peacock bets on EveryZing Peacock Equity, the venture capital fund from NBC Universal and GE Capital, has contributed to a US$8.25m third round of financing for web video search specialist EveryZing. As part of the deal, Boston-based EveryZing will provide its video search and publishing capabilities across NBCU websites including NBC.com, iVillage, CNBC.com, and those of Bravo, Sci-Fi, and Telemundo. The tie-up does not extend to Hulu, NBCU's joint venture with News Corp, Providence Equity Partners and soon Disney. Peacock is believed to have put US$3m into EveryZing's latest round, which takes the firm's funding to US$22m to date. Previous backers Fairhaven Capital, Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners and BBN Technologies also chipped in. The US$250m Peacock fund has invested heavily in new media companies in recent years, including Germany-based computer games website Bigpoint and US next generation games and entertainment firm Trion World Network.
