Viacom, Comcast link up to stream South Park

Viacom and Comcast Interactive Media are to expand the library of full-length programming featured in Fancast, Comcast's online entertainment destination, to include episodes of shows such as South Park and The Colbert Report.

Content from MTV Networks (MTVN) and BET Networks (BETN), including The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, South Park and The Colbert report, will now be streamed on Fancast, along with exclusive MTVN and BETN monthly stunts. These will include advance looks at the series premiere of VH1's Brooke Hogan Knows Best and Polar Bears, Nickelodeon's new The Naked Brothers Band TV movie.

The new agreement expands on the existing deal, announced in January, under which MTVN and BETN provide Fancast with more than 50 hours of full-length episodes and 150 shortform clips each month from their brands.

"MTVN and BETN audiences are more engaged and invested in our brands than ever, and Fancast gives them yet another touch point to access our hit programming online," said Denise Dahldorf, MTVN and BETN executive VP of content distribution and marketing.

Matt Bond, Comcast Cable executive VP of content acquisition, added: "Between Fancast and Comcast's VoD, we're focusing on creating the best and broadest on-demand experience for our customers."

Comcast plans to launch MTVN and BETN's linear high-definition services by the end of the year, and to continue to increase distribution of MTV Hits, MTV Jams and MTV Tr3s.
