C4 goes on demand via Telewest

Cable platform NTL Telewest has agreed to make UK terrestrial Channel 4's programming available on demand.

The three-year deal will allow subscribers to NTL Telewest's digital TV service, who currently number 2.8 million, to catch up on classic C4 shows such as Shameless, Queer As Folk, Drop The Dead Donkey and Jamie's School Dinners.

The content will be refreshed on a regular basis and will include a seven-day free catch-up service for most of C4's primetime TV schedule, including popular shows such as Hollyoaks, Family Brat Camp, Goldplated and Deal or No Deal.

Rod Henwood, new business director at C4, said: "This agreement with NTL Telewest underlines our ambitions. It's a major step towards making C4 content available on demand across multiple platforms and lays the foundation for the launch of our bespoke on demand service later this year."
