Henson's Kid goes to Canada, Lat-Am Sid the Science Kid, the new preschool property from The Jim Henson Company, has found its Canadian and Latin American broadcast homes, having debuted on PBS Kids this month. Discovery Kids Latin America has acquired the animated series, alongside Canadian public broadcasters TV Ontario, SCN-Saskatchewan and British Columbia’s Knowledge.The Jim Henson Company’s Sam Ewing, recently appointed head of international sales, new programming, will push the series to international broadcasters at Mipcom Jr in October. “The series has been extremely well received in the US on PBS Kids, and we expect similar success as it rolls out internationally," said Peter Schube, president and chief operating officer at The Jim Henson Company. Forty half-hour episodes of Sid the Science Kid are being coproduced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET/Los Angeles for PBS Kids.
