Erky Perky 2 underway
MIPCOM JNR: Production is underway on another 26 half-hours of Canadian/Australian toon Erky Perky, producers CCI and Ambience Entertainment have announced.
About two bickering bugs who are forced to survive in a scary kitchen, the show has emerged as a hit on Canada's YTV, and also recently started airing on Seven Network in Australia.
 After Seven's window the show – aimed at seven- to 11-year-olds and animated by Sydney's The Lab - goes to pubcaster ABC and pay TV kidcaster Nickelodeon's Australian channel.
The new season will introduce new characters such as bossy flying bug Mad Margaret, her 'wing-man' Cecil, beguiling niece Sajuica, 'veteran' bug Frenzel, old-timer Moldy Van Oldy and fart-propelled Stinks.
Erky Perky was created by David Webster, developed and produced by Canadian producers Arnie Zipursky, Kristine Klohk and Annette Frymer and Australia's Michael Boughen and Matthew Street.
