Crazy Frog hops on to small screen MIPCOM NEWS: German prodco The League of Good People is in talks with broadcasters about making a TV series based on the Crazy Frog character. The news follows C21 reporting in August that AT Merchandising, the firm that represents Crazy Frog on a global level, was seeking an animation studio to take the character further. Al Ovadia of Al Ovadia and Associates, the North American licensing agent for Crazy Frog, confirmed the news in Cannes at the weekend. Crazy Frog, aka The Annoying Thing, was first introduced on the internet in 2003. It took Europe by storm when German advertiser Jamster began using it to plug its mobile phone downloads, which included ringtones. It then hit the UK music charts in May 2005 when the Crazy Frog Axel F tune went platinum by selling over 600,000 singles, beating the likes of U2 and Coldplay.
