Dance fever reaches CBBC Following the success of its Saturday night ratings topper Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC is launching yet another spin-off from the dance talent show, this time aimed at children. Announced today as part of CBBC's spring/summer programming slate, Dance Factory will see six young hopefuls put through their paces under the watchful eyes of dance experts Nigel Clarke, Camilla Dallerup (the professional dancer most recently featured in Strictly Come Dancing) and Top of the Pops presenter Reggie Yates. The six finalists, chosen from hundreds who took part in regional auditions, will be paired with expert dancers who each dance in a particular style such as Bhangra, street, music theatre, pop, Irish dancing and tap. The winner will receive a dream trip to New York. Dance Factory is set for transmission on March 26. The original Strictly Come Dancing was one of the BBC's most successful shows in the fall season, and has already led BBC producers to start work on Strictly Dance Fever and Strictly African Dancing. Other new kids series includes Only in America, which sees Yates team up with CBBC presenter Fearne Cotton as they set out on a road trip to America in a Chevy convertible. The pair go in search of the "weird, wonderful and downright unbelievable" in the US from prom queens to cowboys from Arizona to Florida. Only in America is a BBC production. Elsewhere, CBBC will see the return of The Saturday Show. CBeebies slate is headlined with Collingwood O'Hare's Gordon the Garden Gnome, Hit's Bob the Builder Project: Build It and returning series Balmory and Tikkabilla.
