Eyeworks takes Anonymous to Spain

Eyeworks Distribution has secured the first international commission for a celebrity hidden-camera show that originated in Ireland.

Anonymous has been handed a weekly primetime slot on Spanish terrestrial La Sexta, where a 10x90' series is being made by production giant Globomedia under the local title Anonimos.

The show disguises celebrities using prosthetics and then challenges the stars to trick the public and those closest to them in a combination of street gags and stunts.

Unlike the Irish version, produced by Kate and Animo for RTE 2, this new version will feature not one by two celebrities in a studio-based version of the format. The stars are reunited with their victims in the studio and a detailed behind-the-scenes element reveals how they pulled off the stunts.

The format was recently optioned by Endemol France and Nordisk Norway, and is in development in several other territories. Distribution is handled by the London-based sales office of Dutch producer Eyeworks.
