Relativity adapts Act of Valor for TV

The television arm of US entertainment producer Relativity is adapting its own movie Act of Valor as a television drama.

RelativityReal, which produces cooking series Beat the Chefs for cablenet GSN, has partnered with the Bandito Brothers to develop a small screen version of the movie, which is due to air on cablenet FX.

They will work together to develop and shop the project to broadcast and cable networks shortly, RelativityReal CEO Tom Forman said.

Act of Valor followed a group of US Navy SEALs who launch a secret operation to put down an immediate global threat. Forman promised the series would be “more visceral than any other show on television.”

Act of Valor will be the second TV project RelativityReal has taken from a feature film, following Catfish: The TV Show, which will air on MTV in November.

The company is also developing TV spin-offs for other films including Immortals, Haywire and Movie 43.

Other big screen hits from Relativity include The Bourne Legacy, Bridesmaids, The Social Network and Zombieland.
