Redford set for Mipcom

Robert Redford will head the line-up of international celebrities at Mipcom in Cannes next month.

As the founder of the Sundance Channel, Redford will mark its first anniversary in Europe with a media Q&A session to discuss its international expansion plans.

Other celebrities on the bill include Kiss frontman and reality TV star, Gene Simmons, who will deliver a keynote address with Bob DeBitteto, president and general manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel.

Simmons’ partner, former Playboy Playmate, Shannon Tweed will also be in Cannes to talk about reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

Little Britain comedians David Walliams and Matt Lucas will be launching their new comedy series Come Fly With Me. BBC Worldwide is introducing international buyers to the new show, which will air on BBC1 later this year.

Entertainment One will be bringing 90210 veteran, Luke Perry to present a 90-minute TV movie, Goodnight for Justice. The film is based on material developed by Perry, and will air on the Hallmark Channel in the US.

Actresses from the new US comedy show Hot in Cleveland, distributed by Endemol, will also be present, as will Emmy Award Nominee Laura Innes (ER) who is attending on behalf of NBC Univeral Television Distribution to promote new drama series, The Event.
