Rede Brasil tucks into Crunchyroll

US-based Japanese animé SVoD and OTT service Crunchyroll is moving into linear television in Brazil.

Subtitled show Black Clover

The streaming service has agreed a deal with domestic broadcaster Rede Brasil (RBTV) that will see an hour of its animé programming airing via linear TV on Saturday.

Subtitled shows Black Clover and Re:Zero will air between 20.00-21.00, in addition to around eight minutes of local programming from Crunchyroll’s Brazilian community managers Maria Luiza, Petranski Arantes and Beatriz Braz Accioly.

The local shows will explore the latest animé shows and creatives, as well as the genre’s fans.

Crunchyroll claims to be the world’s largest streaming destination for animé and manga with more than 40 million registered users and over one million subscribers.
