BOO, which was founded by CEO Jay Faires, develops, produces and distributes premium content across linear TV, mobile, branded entertainment and international platforms.

It works with companies including Galore Media and crowdfunding platform Seed & Spark and is currently in development on shows such as Dope Nation and factual series American Hate.

“Our deal with Band of Outsiders is part of an ongoing strategy to thoughtfully and deliberately expand our presence in the US content market,” said Jan Frouman, chairman and CEO of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, which is taking a 20% stake in BOO.

“Jay is a pure entrepreneur. Anyone who spends 30 minutes with the guy will see that. He’s got great things brewing in linear, digital and branded. We like the idea of joining forces with him at the earliest stage. We think this can be a very cool partnership.”

Red Arrow International will distribute BOO projects internationally.

It marks Red Arrow’s latest foray into the US production space, where it already owns Half Yard Productions, Nerd TV, Kinetic Content, Fabrik Entertainment and Left/Right Productions.

In 2015, the group launched Ripple Entertainment, a digital media company based in LA. Red Arrow also took a minority stake in LA-based prodco Karga Seven Pictures last November.
