RDF USA chief Coelen quits

Chris Coelen has resigned as CEO of RDF Media USA, announcing his departure just hours after ITV exec Natalka Znak was named as the company’s new executive VP.

No specific reason has been given for the exit of Coelen, who has been at RDF Media USA for almost four years. However, an RDF spokeswoman told C21 the departure was by “mutual agreement” between Coelen and RDF Media Group CEO David Frank.

It is understood that Znak, who will be focusing on development, is not replacing Coelen, and that RDF will look for a new US CEO. No details have been given as to Coelen’s next move.

Under Coelen’s tenure, the production company’s US wing made reality series such as Find My Family for ABC; Secret Millionaire and Don’t Forget The Lyrics for Fox; and How To Look Good Naked for Lifetime Television.

The company also recently won a 13-episode order from cablenet Syfy to make a US version of BBC3 hit Being Human.
