Raw ratchets up Hawkins

UK-based production outfit Raw TV has promoted Adam Hawkins to senior VP of development to bolster the company’s growing US slate.

Hawkins, previously head of US development at the Gold Rush producer, will continue to be based in London working alongside creative director Bart Layton, but will now have an increased US presence and greater say over the company’s development strategy.

He will spearhead a team of four development execs and work closely with Discovery-owned Raw’s head of US factual, Sam Maynard. Together they will target the US market and collaborate further with head of drama and film development Zander Levy on US TV scripted projects.

Prior to joining Raw in 2012, Hawkins was head of development for RDF West and was also a development exec for Endemol-owned Cheetah and Zig Zag.

US factual giant Discovery Communications completed its buy-out of Raw in March this year following a similar deal for rival factual prodco Betty in 2011, and ahead of its deal for All3Media with Liberty Global.
