Rattray, Greenbird launch prodco

Industry veteran Wendy Rattray is launching a new Scotland-based production indie with backing from UK finance outfit Greenbird.

Hello Halo is based in Glasgow and will specialise in making factual programming as well as features and factual entertainment formats.

Rattray is a former creative director of Scottish prodco STV Productions and worked on shows including Antiques Road Trip, Levi Roots Cookery Series and the first series of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.

It is Greenbird’s seventh investment in production companies and the firm’s joint MD Stuart Mullin said expanding into Scotland was “a significant move, giving our affiliated production companies both a base there and the benefit of Wendy’s experience in the Scottish sector.”

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, has a first-look distribution deal with Hello Halo programming. Terms of Greenbird’s investment were not revealed.

Greenbird has previously invested in companies including Big Light Productions and factual prodco Rumpus Media.
