Rainmaker promotes talent executive

Canadian animation house Rainmaker Entertainment has promoted Tara Kemes to the newly created position of VP of culture and talent.

Kemes, most recently director of talent development, will spearhead the company’s recruiting efforts in her new role while continuing to expand its creative and technical teams. She reports to Kim Dent Wilder, Rainmaker’s senior VP of production and operations.

Her promotion comes a week after former MGM executive Steve Hendry was appointed to Rainmaker’s board of directors.

In April, Rainmaker hired Fonda Snyder from US animation studio Technicolor as its new VP of creative development and sales.

Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, Rainmaker’s TV arm, recently partnered with Hit Entertainment to make two 26×11’ seasons of CGI toon Bob the Builder, due to be delivered in late 2015.
