Rainmaker builds up TV team

Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, the TV arm of Canadian animation house Rainmaker Entertainment, has promoted its director of production.

Kylie Ellis has been upped to the newly created role of VP, production at the studio, which is providing the animation for Hit Entertainment’s reboot of the Bob the Builder franchise.

Ellis, who reports to Rainmaker Entertainment senior VP of production and operations Kim Dent Wilder, has recently been overseeing the production of the 104×10′ CG-animated series.

PBS Kids in the US, Channel 5 in the UK and Super RTL in Germany are among the broadcasters who will air the toon later this year.

Mainframe produced a large slate of series in the 1990s and early 2000s, including Transformers spin-off Beast Wars and several seasons of CGI sci-fi toon ReBoot, which Rainmaker is currently redeveloping for modern audiences.
