Rainmaker adds to board

Canadian animation house Rainmaker Entertainment has appointed former MGM executive Steve Hendry to its board of directors.

Hendry, who currently serves as an advisor to several media companies, now joins Tim McElvain, Craig Graham, Jeff Sackman and Patrick Ryan on Rainmaker’s management board.

He previously served as senior executive VP of television operations at MGM, where he was responsible for financial operations, forecasting, planning and analysis for the division, which encompassed TV and digital distribution, TV production and worldwide channels.

His appointment was made at Rainmaker’s annual general meeting this month.

In April, Rainmaker hired Fonda Snyder from US animation studio Technicolor as its new VP of creative development and sales.

Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, Rainmaker’s TV arm, recently partnered with Hit Entertainment to make two 26×11′ seasons of CGI toon Bob the Builder, due to be delivered in late 2015.
