Radical Sheep hires DHX exec

Radical Sheep Productions (RSP) in Canada has hired DHX Media’s director of development as senior director of development and production.

Shaleen Sangha has joined RSP, a division of Boat Rocker Studios, in the role after 10 years with DHX.

During her time at the Canadian children’s broadcaster, producer and distributor, Sangha worked on shows including Looped, Supernoobs, Doozers, Inspector Gadget, Chuck’s Choice and Make it Pop.

She will report to Michelle Melanson Cuperus, president at Radical Sheep, and will oversee the company’s live-action and animation development and production slates. Sangha is also a writer, director and producer of short films.

Orphan Black producer Boat Rocker acquired Toronto-based RSP last year after investing in another Toronto-based animation outfit, Industrial Brothers, as expanded its kids and animation footprint.

Its investment arm, Boat Rocker Ventures, also recently invested in MarcoPolo Learning, which produces early childhood education mobile apps.
