CONTENT STRATEGIES: Uncovering programming opportunities worldwide

Puppy in My Pocket set for US

Turner Broadcasting’s Boomerang in the US has acquired Puppy in My Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville, the series based on the MEG Toys brand.

The programme will air on Boomerang in early 2012, and comes after Turner picked it up for channels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The series is based on the Puppy in My Pocket toy brand and coproduced by Italian indie Mondo TV and toycos Giochi Preziozi and MEG. The latter is based in California and is the brand’s originator. MEG and Mondo also partner on a TV adaptation of the Power Buggz brand.

The Puppy in My Pocket brand was first popular during the 1990s and has seen a revival following the announcement of the TV series in January 2010.

“The addition of the powerful reach of Turner Broadcasting in the US will surely make the series a children’s broadcasting success worldwide,” said MEG’s CEO Joe Morrison.
