Pulse to adapt rock ‘n’ roll book into doc

UK- and US-based prodco Pulse Films has picked up the rights to Lizzy Goodman’s book Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth & Rock & Roll in New York City 2001-2011.

The prodco will adapt the bestseller into a 4×60’ cinematic music documentary with Pulse Films’ Thomas Benski, Sam Bridger and Brian Levy as executive producers, along with writer Lizzy Goodman.

Jaime Neely will produce and directors Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern are attached to helm the new series.

Set against the backdrop of 9/11, Meet Me in the Bathroom tells the story of an age of rock ’n’ roll and how bands like The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol redefined the genre.

Pulse produced a 10-part series about the history of rock ’n’ roll for European satcaster Sky earlier this year.
