Richard Haines takes up the new role as head of acquisitions and TV development to seek out new TV and production company partners that the publisher can work with.

Haines, who joined Penguin in 2012 prior to its merger with Random House, will also work alongside the PRH Children’s picture book team to create animation based on its properties.

He will continue to acquire new licenses for publishing, having worked on brands such as Puffin Rock, The Clangers, Danger Mouse and Terraria.

Meanwhile, licensed publishing executive Emily Campan has had TV development added to her remit and will be working alongside Haines, who continues to report to PRH Children’s MD Francesca Dow.
