ProSieben picks All Against 1

All Against 1 was created by Nordisk Film TV Denmark

German broadcaster ProSieben has ordered a local version of All Against 1, the Banijay Group format that was at the centre of a legal dispute over format theft claims.

The interactive studio-based entertainment show pits one contestant against app users around the nation and will be produced in Germany by Banijay-owned prodco Brainpool.

It will be known in Germany as Alle Gegen Einen and will consist of four live episodes, which will broadcast later this year. Andreas Viek is at the helm as executive producer.

Created by Nordisk Film TV Denmark, All Against 1 has aired on that country’s DR1 and on France2, as well as being remade in Finland by Nelonen.

The format was the subject of a legal dispute in 2016, with FremantleMedia’s Tel Aviv-based prodco Abot Hameiri Productions (AHP) claiming it was a copy of its own show Are You Smarter Than the Crowd?, now known as The Best of All.

The case appeared to be heading to court but both sides backed down, agreeing the two formats are original and can exist as separate entities.
