ProSieben, Gurin strike copro pact

Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1 Group and its production arm RedSeven Entertainment have struck a two-year coproduction deal with LA-based producer The Gurin Company.

The deal will see the companies develop concepts and produce shows of the genre variety, light entertainment, reality and docusoaps for the German-speaking European territories as well as for the US, Canada and the UK. SevenOne International will exclusively handle the distribution.

Michael Schmidt, senior VP entertainment German free TV at ProSiebenSat.1, said: “This cooperation is a very important part of our strategy and will supply our channels with original content from international independent producers. I’m very happy that we could win over Phil Gurin for the creative cooperation with our group.”

Gurin is behind a number of international hit gameshows such as Do You Trust Me, Singing Bee and Miss Teen USA. RedSeven produces entertainment shows for pan-European ProSiebenSat.1, such as Austria’s Next Top Model.
