Cartoon Network Studios’ PowerPuff Girls

Cartoon Network has greenlit a second season of its rebooted version of comic action-adventure series The Powerpuff Girls.

The franchise returned earlier this year and joined series such as Adventure Time, Steven Universe and The Amazing World of Gumball on the Turner-owned kids’ channel.

The series is produced by Cartoon Network Studios, with Nick Jennings (Adventure Time) serving as executive producer and Bob Boyle (Clarence) as co-executive producer.

The initial run of The Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCracken, premiered in 1998 and also spawned a feature film with Warner Bros Pictures in 2002.
