Portfolio’s Chef takes orders

Toronto-based producer and distributor Portfolio Entertainment has clinched international deals for 200 hours of its lifestyle programming, including Chef at Home and Chef at Large.

Israeli broadcaster Ananey Communications has bought rights to three culinary shows: seasons three and four of Chef at Home (52×30′); three seasons of Chef At Large, totalling 39 half-hour episodes; and one-hour special Saturday Night.

Meanwhile, Pyramid Entertainment scooped up Kuwaiti rights to 131 half-hour episodes of Chef at Home and all five seasons of Chef At Large, totalling 65 half-hours.

New Zealand’s The Living Channel satisfied its appetite with a smaller helping and bought season five of Chef at Home (26×30′), while Romania’s Antena 4 has imported 52 half-hour episodes of French Food at Home.

Stepping out of the kitchen, European, Middle Eastern and African rights to the first seasons of Portfolio’s architectural series Mansions (10×30′) and D-Sign (13×30′) were bought by Chellozone Media for its Zone Club network.

And rounding of the sales was African Business Channel, which bought the South African rights to the first season of Mansions.

The announcement was made today by Jon Rutherford, director of sales and acquisitions.
