Portfolio’s Bubu lands at int’l networks

TG4 has acquired preschool toon Bubu & the Little Owls

International broadcasters have picked up shows including Bubu & the Little Owls and Freaktown from Canadian children’s TV firm Portfolio Entertainment.

Bubu & the Little Owls (26×11′), a preschool series featuring a family of cute owls who face a new nature adventure in each episode, has been sold to TG4 in Ireland.

The Irish-language broadcaster has also taken the second season of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That (26×30′), as well as a trio of 60-minute Cat in the Hat movies, from Portfolio.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 8 has picked up animated comedy series Freaktown (26×30′), which is aimed at six- to 11-year-olds and follows a bunch of friendly freaks fighting against the forces of cuteness.
