Pops picks up Looi

Looi is available on Amazon Prime in the US and on iQiyi in China

An SVoD service in Vietnam and Thailand backed by Turner Asia Pacific has acquired the preschool animated series Looi.

Pops Worldwide has taken the series, which follows the adventures of a group of animal toy figures brought to life by magic.

It will be available via Pops’ SVoD service, as well as its advertising-supported VoD services in Vietnam and Thailand.

Turner Asia Pacific took a minority stake in Pops in June last year.

“Pops is excited to be working with Looi and other like-minded content partners in our network that share our mission to create a safe family-friendly digital playground in Southeast Asia,” said Fabien Lotz, country manager for Pops Worldwide.

The deal with Pops follows Looi being made available on Amazon Prime in the US and other territories, and on iQiyi in China.

“Looi continues to build an international audience and fan base, where children love the character, his friends and their adventures and parents love the calming effect it has on their kids,” said Gary Cohen, director at UK-based Looi Ltd.
