Pop eyes Royals after E! wields axe

Pop is said to be in talks to take over The Royals

US network E! has cancelled its Elizabeth Hurley-starring comedy-drama The Royals after four seasons, with the show reportedly now being shopped to other networks.

The show first aired on E! in March 2015 and is produced by Lionsgate Television, with NBCUniversal International selling globally.

It stars Hurley as a fictional queen of England in charge of a modern-day royal family that has a scandalous prince and princess twins.

Lionsgate- and CBS-backed US network Pop is reportedly in discussions to pick up the show, although nothing has been confirmed.
