PlayKids grows library down under

PlayKids, the SVoD app from Latin American mobile services provider Movile, has stocked up on programming in Australia and New Zealand.

Users of the preschool app down under will be able to watch episodes of Ready Steady Wiggle, Fireman Sam and Thomas & Friends following a deal with ABC Commercial.

The SVoD rights agreement, which begins on August 4, also covers episodes of Sesame Street, Mister Maker, Octonauts, Q Pootle 5, Toby’s Travelling Circus, Peg + Cat, Cloudbabies, Mike the Knight and Dinosaur Train.

The PlayKids app launched down under in 2014 and is currently available to download through Google Play and the iTunes App Store.

Last year, Movile invested US$15m in the mobile and tablet video app to grow its programming library and launch in new territories.
