Persson takes Turner programming role

Turner in EMEA has promoted one of its executives to oversee programming strategy across its linear and digital kids’ platforms.

Cecilia Persson, formerly the Cartoon Network owner’s VP of acquisitions and coproductions for international, now has the title VP of programming and content strategy for kids in EMEA, acquisitions and coproduction international.

Turner is combining its programming and acquisitions teams under Persson, who will continue to perform her previous role while managing the programming strategy for Turner’s children’s brands in EMEA.

undressedShe will report to Patricia Hidalgo, chief content and creative officer, kids EMEA and kids strategy international.

“There’s never been a more important time to bring together teams that produce winning programming strategies with those that source and create the best programmes our audiences crave across all platforms,” said Hidalgo.

Turner is present in 70 countries with 18 channels, including Cartoon Network and Boomerang, reaching more than 130 million households in EMEA.
