Peppa prompts eOne appointment

Entertainment One (eOne) has agreed a series of deals in Asia for its preschool series Peppa Pig and hired a territory manager to oversee the brand in the region.

Candy Ho is joining eOne as senior territory manager for Asia to oversee the company’s licensing portfolio out of Hong Kong.

She joins from Hit Entertainment where she was senior manager of global brands marketing and will report to Ami Dieckman, head of international licensing at eOne.

The appointment is designed to capitalize on the success of Peppa Pig in Asia following a spate of recent deals with broadcasters.

Singaporean broadcaster OKTO and Taiwan’s Yoyo TV have both picked up a fifth season of the show, while eOne has also agreed a pan-regional deal with Nickelodeon that will see the first six seasons launch on its Nick Jr cable network across the region.

eOne has also secured multi-platform partnerships that will see Peppa Pig content become available in Korean via apps on Apple Store and Google Play.
