Passion shows go global

Broadcasters across Europe, North America and Asia have picked up a raft of programming from Passion Distribution following the UK firm’s annual showcase in London yesterday.

RMC Découverte France has picked up the first two seasons of factual show Timber Kings, which follows some of the best chainsaw carvers in the business, and has also taken the first four seasons of magic series Dynamo: Magician Impossible.

Meanwhile, SBS in Norway, TV2 in Denmark and Blue Ant in Canada have all taken taken Charlie Luxton’s Homes By The Sea.

The Weather Channel in the US has licensed So You Think You’d Survive? (8×60’), while FIC channel Voyage has taken Air Pressure (10×30’). In addition, documentary channel Planete A&E has picked up the seveth and eighth seasons of Ghost Adventures.

Italian broadcaster De Agostini has licensed World’s Angriest (8×60’) and Angry Britain (6×60’). World’s Angriest has also travelled to Poland as part of a deal with TVN Poland that includes Traffic Cops (seasons nine and 11) and seasons two and three of An Idiot Abroad.

Finally, Nippon in Japan has acquired Strangest Weather on Earth.
