Oxygen lines up Hernandez doc

NBCUniversal-owned Oxygen Media has ordered a two-part documentary series on the life of late NFL star and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez.

Aaron Hernandez Uncovered will air on consecutive nights from March 17, featuring those who knew the former New England Patriots player.

The series is produced by Entertainment One-owned prodco Renegade 83. David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe, Renegade 83’s founders, will exec produce alongside Bob Kusbit and Vince DiPersio. Jose Baez serves as consulting producer on the series.

It will detail Hernandez’s dual life of sporting prowess, family and fan adoration and his criminality, including his conviction for the murder of Odin Lloyd, which led to his suicide while appealing against the verdict.
