OWN adds more Sugar

NEWS BRIEF: US network OWN has extended its Oprah Winfrey-exec produced drama Queen Sugar into a second season before the first has aired.

The 13-part first run, which debuts on September 6, is from Warner Horizon Television and Harpo Productions and follows the life of a family that takes over a sugar cane farm in Louisana. The 16-episode second run will air in 2017.
