One Show head joins BBC Vision Productions

The BBC’s in-house production division BBC Vision Productions has appointed Tessa Finch, head of daily magazine series The One Show, to run development.

Finch will focus on large-scale linear and multimedia development across drama, entertainment, comedy and factual, working with Vision Productions’ chief creative officer Pat Younge when he joins in January.

Finch led the creation of The One Show from scratch. It has been running for more than two years, regularly attracts more than four million viewers and was recently extended from 30 minutes to an hour every Friday.

In a statement, Finch said: “I’m sad to be leaving The One Show, which has been great fun and a real creative challenge, but the opportunity to take the lead in developing the next generation of large-scale, genre-busting programmes and multimedia projects for BBC Vision Productions was too good to turn down.”
