October exposes stalking for Discovery

MIPTV: UK factual indie October Films has picked up its first commission from Investigation Discovery in the US.

The documentary Obsession: Dark Desires (10×60′) focuses on victims of stalking and features victim testimony and insight from forensic psychologists.

It is executive produced by Jeanie Vink for Investigation Discovery and co-executive produced by Alex Sutherland, Matt Robins and Denman Rooke for October Films.

Jane Latman, senior VP of development at Investigation Discovery, said stalking was a very important issue and October Films series would “expertly profile the courage and tenacity of the victims to give viewers a visceral portrayal of survivors’ harrowing experiences.”

In March, independent UK distributor Cineflix Rights signed a two-year first-look deal giving it worldwide rights to all October’s new programming, including the latest series.
