Normaal appoints distribution boss

MIPJUNIOR: Normaal in France has appointed the former head of operations at Gaumont Animation as its new head of business development and international sales.

Marc Dhrami

Marc Dhrami will join the Paris-based firm on November 1 in the role, having left Gaumont earlier this year after six years in its financing and coproduction department.

Dhrami has been tasked with developing international partnerships and coproductions at Normaal, as well as selling the prodco’s animated TV series worldwide.

He arrives at Normaal following the departure of Marie Lassal, who left to join fledgling French outfit Kids First Distribution after it was set up by local production companies Watch Next Media and Monello Productions.

Since being founded in 2002, Normaal has worked on series such as Peanuts, Tangerine & Cow and Art Investigation. It is currently in production on Hello World (10×9′) for France Télévisions, Barbapapa (52×11′) for TF1 and Nick Jr and Ella, Oscar & Hoo (52×11′) for Canal+ in France, YLE in Finland and SVT in Sweden.
