Nordic nets extend Design Challenge

Two Nordic networks have extended deals for a Studio Lambert factual entertainment format that sees amateur designers undertake home makeovers.

Denmark’s SBS Discovery has ordered a second season of The Great Interior Design Challenge from the recently merged Strix/Gong, which will go into production in 2015.

SBS previously aired a 32-episode first season in a daily slot on Kanal 5, with the show featuring celebrities carrying out the interior makeovers.

Meanwhile Viasat Broadcasting in Sweden has acquired season two of the original UK version to air next year. The 16×60′ show was produced by Studio Lambert and recently aired on BBC2.

Both the format and original show are distributed by All3Media International, which is also lining up a French adaptation.

The first 12×60′ season of the original has previously been picked up by Viasat for Norway, The Living Channel in New Zealand and BBC Global for its Africa feed, while Foxtel in Australia has acquired both season one and two.
