NMV looks to life after Laura

The Mysteries of Laura

The Mysteries of Laura

The London-based distributor that brokered the deal for NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura has secured format rights to another Spanish drama series.

New Media Vision (NMV) has picked up English-language remake rights to long-running period drama Remember When, known locally as Cuéntame Como Pasó.

The programme, which airs on Spanish channel TVE and is produced by Grupo Ganga Producciones, replays the events of the late 1960s as viewed through the eyes of a working-class family. It chronicles the evolution of three generations as they pursue their dream of a middle-class lifestyle.

Remember When has received several International Emmy nominations and has already been adapted in Italy, Portugal, Greece, the Czech Republic and Ecuador.

NMV, run by former Viasat exec Todd Lituchy, will be hoping to follow the success it has enjoyed with The Mysteries of Laura, based on the Grupo Boomerang format Los Misterios de Laura that it licensed to NBC. The US network announced earlier this month that the series was being renewed for a second season.
