Nine Oz helps more farmers marry

The Farmer Wants a Wife is making a comeback in Australia on the Nine Network after a three-year hiatus.
Nine has commissioned a new season of the rural dating show from FremantleMedia, which has issued a casting call for farmers.
Originally hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski, the reality show ran on Nine for eight seasons until 2012, spawning eight marriages, nine children and three couples who are still in long-term relationships.
Last year Nine screened Endemol Australia’s When Love Comes to Town, which followed 12 single city girls who had been unlucky in love as they travelled the country in hopes of finding “the one.”
[1]That show flopped, which may explain why the network is giving The Farmer Wants a Wife another chance. There has been no announcement of the new host, number of episodes or airdate.
The format has proved popular in Europe, with local versions on TV4 in Sweden, RTL in Germany and ATV in Austria among others.
