Nick races off with kart drama

NATPE: Nickelodeon Latin America has ordered a teen drama about kart racing set in Miami and inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.

Formula A has been created by Carlos Jiménez-Pons and is being produced by Somos Productions.

The show will star Samantha Siqueros (Along Came Love), Maite Embil (¿Quién es Quién?) and newcomer Estefano Ollivier.

It will be filmed at Viacom International Studios, the production hub for Viacom International Media Networks Americas, and on location in Miami.

“The series’ storyline and aesthetic will bring a fresh perspective to the genre and will captivate our audience in Latin America,” said Tatiana Rodriguez, senior VP of Nickelodeon Group Americas.

Formula A begins production in March and is set to premiere regionally in the third quarter of this year. The show follows two kart racers who fall in love despite their families’ rivalry.
